Supply List

In
this workshop, "Instant Round Robin", participants will create a
nature-themed, fabric collage using prepared fabric shapes
brought by, and exchanged with, all other participants. Given the
creative nature of this group, there won’t be many rules. (Too many
self-described rebels!)
Here
are the starting guidelines: Everyone brings the following:
-
25 of the same leaf or flower or small branch or insect (whatever, you
get the idea) to which you have already fused Lightweight
WonderUnder (by Pellon). Everyone needs
to use the same fusible product, to have a consistent fuse time for all
the pieces. Bring the pieces already cut. Use any cotton
fabric that you like. Leaves, or "whatever", can be anywhere from 2-4"
in diameter. Branches or stems might be longer.
-
A
few options for the background fabric; perhaps an 18-inch square or
separate blocks, or an old pieced block, a fabric book page, a
sweatshirt. It will be fun to see how many different ways people can
use the items and how differently they can be arranged, embellished and
quilted!
-
Some
kind of pressing board, small board or cardboard to support your
background fabric for arranging your pieces.
-
Scissors
Margaret and Kathy will bring irons and ironing boards, as well as
books about freestyle and snippet quilting.
Everyone
will put their cut shapes on a table and we'll all get one of each
thing to arrange on our background. Everyone should feel free to use
the pieces as they see fit (to cut or otherwise alter) without
offending anyone. Artistic license rules! This will be great fun! ALSO:
Please wear a name tag of some sort to our meetings. Be creative! We
are adding new members all the time and we want everyone to know each
other.
