Preview of 2005 and Details for the January 8, 2005 Workshop
At
the November 13th CQFA meeting, a number of workshop ideas for the 2005
meetings were discussed and the plan below was outlined. The programs
always are subject to change, but you can ink in the dates on your 2005
calendar. Note that some meetings are on the first Saturday, some on
the second Saturday of odd numbered months. Other workshop suggestions
are always encouraged, since alternatives may be needed at any time.
Again, we will ask that anyone staying for the workshops contribute a
mere $5 for the CQFA coffers. And guests who come to the meetings are
asked for $5 as well. It’s ALWAYS worth it.
January 8th: An "Instant Round Robin", fused fabric collage workshop, led by CQFA members Kathy Murray and Margaret Sturtevant (click here for supply list).
March 5th: "Stamping Fabrics" workshop by Karen Lee Smith (invited by Jaye Lapachet). Diane Carver (CQFA member) will also give a short description of materials needed for the May 7th meeting.
May 7th: Diane Carver will lead a "Silk Painting" workshop.
July 9th: "Round Robin in a Day", led by CQFA member Maureen Lardie.
September 10th: Demonstration of foil or metal embellishment techniques by Margaret Sturtevant and Irene Bunner. And a "Bag Making" workshop with members Jaye Lapachet and Debbie Wambaugh.
November 5th: A Silent Auction fundraiser for CQFA. Bring "something nice" to sell. Also, a fabric and/or block trading session between members. Bring some things you don’t want, find some things you do. And perhaps there will be a fabric/paper collage workshop with Laurie West Roberts and someone else.
